There would be no miracle comebacks in this, the third meeting between the Waxers and the Pickering Panthers, as Markham stormed out to an early lead and cruised to victory of Triple Event Night.  It took just 2:02 to unleash the Teddy Bear Toss (almost 3 minutes quicker than last season) and the Waxers rolled out to a 5-1 lead by the end of the first period.

Josh Jacobs was this year's Bear lover as he tipped home a Daniel Torres shot to make it 1-0.  The Novice AAA Waxers then came on the ice to collect the Teddy Bears which covered the ice and were later donated by the Waxers to the York Region Children's Aid Society.  Once the ice was cleaned off, the Waxers got right back to work as Torres rifled home a goal of his own just 13 seconds later (with assists to Jacobs and newcomer Steve Ritchie).  Markham continued the onslaught when Andrew Dias was the recipient of a good forecheck effort by Derrell Levy and Stephen Wong and corralled a loose puck beside the Panthers net and stuffed home his 7th of the campaign.  Riley Hill finished off a nice centering pass from Ryan Olidis, undressing the Panther goalie for the 4-0 lead just past the midway point of the period.  Pickering scored to make it 4-1 but then Wong would bang home the 5th goal, assists to Dias and Hill, to make it 5-1, and pretty much academic, after the opening period.

Jacobs scored the only goal of the second, firing a nice backhand home to finish a three way passing play started by Torres and Ritchie to make it 6-1 entering the third.  With the Alumni celebration already underway upstairs, the Waxers let their guard down in the final moments of the game allowing Pickering to score twice to round out the scoring.
