WAXERS ADD VETERAN LEADERSHIP IN THREE-WAY DEAL 
The Markham Waxers have added an important veteran element to their roster early in this 2000-01 campaign. Joining the Waxers is 1981-born forward Steve Nobili.

The deal was a complex one involving three clubs, the Waxers sent the rights to defenseman Jim Ulcar to Brampton and the rights to forward Dan Beaudoin to Ajax. Brampton in addition sent defenseman Matt Farrell to the Axemen to complete the transaction.

Steve is not an unfamiliar face to the Waxers coaching staff. In 1997-98, while with the Thornhill franchise, GM Larry Herrington dealt for Steve. Steve played 17 games with the Herringtons then before suffering a season-ending injury, scoring 8 goals and assisting on 17 for 25 points.

The Waxers are proud and excited about this transaction and are expecting Steve to provide veteran leadership and experience to a young Markham squad. He will make his debut with the Waxers Friday night (Oct. 6) when the Waxers face a rematch with the Pickering Panthers.
