A somewhat disturbing trend continued for the Waxers as North York openbed the scoring in the opening minutes of the game with a powerplay goal.  The Waxers buckled down at that point and kept the Rangers off the scoreboard the rest of the way as the game quickly became a goaltenders battle.  Markham ended the first period on the right note, tying the score with a powerplay goal of their own with just 6 seconds left on the clock.  Mick Ralph started the rush out of the Waxers end before passing off to James Gaulrapp in the neutral zone.  Gaulrapp found Brandon Rubeo at the North York blueline and his head man pass sprung a 2-on-1 rush.  Rubeo kept the puck himself and roofed a backhand shot over the outstretched glove to score his team leading 5th of the year.

After a scoreless second period, the two teams continued their entertaining affair in the third period with furious up and down action.  Markham was able to bust the tie just past the halway mark of the period.  After a Brett Molnar shot from the high slot, Brandon Fackey and David Kostuch attacked the net hunting for the rebound.  The goalie stopped Fackey's shot but Kostuch corraled the puck and buried it upstairs under the crossbar for the game winning goal.  North York pressed in the final minute but after Joel Gaulrapp blocked a shot from the point, Rubeo fed the puck up the ice to James Gaulrapp who scored uncontested in to the empty  net.  

Both teams played well on the evening but the best performance may have been put in by the Officials (Referee Ryan O'Neill and Linesmen Brett Punchard and Nick Ouwroules).
