Markham's two game winning streak came to an end on College Weekend as the Waxers lost for the second straight year to a Western Conference opponent, 5-1 to Milton. The game was closer than the score indicated, especially in the opening 20 minutes when the Waxers failed to capitalize on numerous powerplays.

Milton would kill off 5 odd man advantages in the first period and would come out on top by a 2-0 score, scoring twice on 6 shots. The Waxers could only muster 7 shots on net in the first period in their best period and then had little opportunity to improve their fate as Milton's defense would smother them as they protected their lead. It was 4-0 heading in to the third period and the Waxers lone goal came on a tricky wrist shot from Leiland Gauley, his first Jr A goal, just 4:40 in to the third.
