A third period goal by Josh Jacobs broke up what was essentially a goaltender's duel and staked the Waxers to a 1-0 victory in their first chance to host the Oshawa Legionaires. Hardly a classic, the game was quite sloppy and for the most part boring, as the two teams really only opened up in the final 20 minutes.

Trevor O'Neill earned his second shutout of the season as he stopped 35 shots. Markham peppered the Oshawa net with 47 shots, however, most were of the trivial kind, shooting from bad angles and not getting the puck to the middle of the ice. The game winning goal was scored by the Waxers on the powerplay when Nathaniel Brooks headmanned the puck to Rainor Guminny in the neutral zone. Guminny swooped around the defence and cut hard to the net. The goalie stopped his backhand shot but the rebound fell right on to Jacobs' stick and he buried it for his 6th of the year.
