Markham and St Michael's squared off for their thrid regular season match of the year, and true to form, produced another wild and wooly night in the spacious SMC Arena. The Buzzers led at one point 6-0 before the Waxers stormed back to make it 6-4 but could get no closer as the first place hosts skated away with the 8-5 victory.

The Waxers did not get on the scoreboard until late in the second, although they had a number of glorious opportunites in the opening 38 minutes. Josh Jacobs busted the goose egg for Markham, his first of two on the night, as he buried a centering pass after a nice rush by Riley Hill and Derrell Levy with 1:11 left on the clock in the second period. That was followed by a Ben Cottreau breakaway goal, set up by Jeff Paisley, and the Waxers trailed 6-2 entering the third.

Ryan Olidis tipped home an Albert Ferrante shot (with the second assist to Paisley) early in the third to keep things moving for Markham and make it 6-3. Then Cottreau buried a powerplay marker (from Nathaniel Brooks and Jamie Wright) to make it interesting with 9:50 left in regulation. St Mike's would score twice more - one coming just seconds after a controversial "wave off" of an apparent Markham goal - to double up on the Waxers 8-4. Jacobs bagged his second goal to make it 8-5, a powerplay marker from Andrew Dias and Mike Standon, in the final minute for the last goal of the game.
