The Waxers continue to dread overtime on home ice as they dropped their team record 5th overtime game this season as the visiting Oshawa Legionaires took home the extra point with a last minute goal for the 6-5 final.

The Waxers opened the scoring first when Ryan Olidis took a pass from Jamie Wright and broke down the left wing. Olidis blasted a slap shot off the post and it ricocheted off B J Quinto's skate right back to Olidis who tapped it home in to the open net for the 1-0 lead. Oshawa would grab the next goal and then the Waxers retook the lead on the powerplay on a Ben Cottreau goal. Nathaniel Brooks and Andrew Dias started the play which Cottreau finished by blowing past the defense around the outside and then swooped in on net dekeing the goalie. Oshawa scored the next two goals to make it 3-2 before the Waxers tied the score 3-3 with 24 seconds left in the period. Cottreau won the face off cleanly back to Mike Standon and he blasted a slapshot home for his 2nd goal of the year.

Oshawa would make it 4-3 early in the second and then the Waxers tied the game 4-4. Cottreau and Wright combined on a 3-on-2 rush to get a shot on net and Stephen Wong was right there to bang home the rebound just 4 minutes after the Legionaires had taken the lead. Oshawa would make it 5-4 before the period ended.

Markham tied the game early in the third period when Josh Jacobs was able to whack away at a loose puck in the goal crease three or four times before he finally sank the puck in to the net to tie the game for the final time (with assists to Standon and Derrell Levy). The remaining 18:02 of regulation stayed tied as did the opening 4:06 of the overtime before the Legionaires buried the winning goal with 0:54 left in the extra frame.
