Markham hosted the Huntsville Wildcats on their final home game of the calendar year 2002 and exploded for their most lopsided victory of the year in a 13-1 win. Markham wasted little time tonight as they held a 5-0 lead after the opening twenty minutes and went 6 for 8 on the powerplay.

Jamie Wright opened the scoring just over two minutes in when his slapshot beat the goalie to the short side, assisted by Daniel Torres and Ryan Steane. Ryan Olidis then scored to make it 2-0, on a 5-3 power play, assited by Joe Rothwell and Tony Rossi. Pat Porretta then bagged a natural hat trick, pushing his team leading goal total to 30. His first was assited by Mike Diamond and Liam Bowen. His second and third goals were assited by Nathaniel Brooks and Jason Duffy.

The second period was more of the same as the Waxers again scored 5 goals to take a 10-0 lead in to the third. Rossi scored from Rothwell, then Albert Ferrante scored assited by Bowen and Kevin Cribari. Porretta bagged his fourth of the night assisted by Brooks and Diamond. Olidis scored his second of the evening from Rossi and Menonte. Then Menonte scored from Wright to complete the second period scoring.

The third period saw the Waxers score two more before Huntsville broke the shutout in the final five minutes. Stephen Wong scored assisted by Bowen and Diamond and Rothwell scored assisted by Menonte and Duffy. After Huntsville broke Kevin Sit's shutout bid, Sit was replaced by Midget call-up Robert von Engelbrechten (who dressed for all three games this weekend as Anthony Guadagnolo battled the Norwalk virus). Bowen completed the scoring with assists to Steane and Rothwell.
