The walking wounded traveled across Highway 7 to visit arch rival Thornhill and the contest was a disaster for the boys in blue and white.

The Rattlers scored three times in each period to hand the Waxers an embarrassing defeat, their worst of the year by far.

The Waxers lone goal came off the stick of Adam Doucette, on a powerplay, for his 23rd of the year to cut the deficit to 4-1 at the time. By the midway point of the contest Adam had already had several outstanding chances to score only to hit iron, shoot wide or being turned away by the Rattler keeper. The Waxers weren't completely out of the contest until later in the second period when it was evident that this would be a night that would be best ended sooner rather than later.

Give full marks to the Rattlers for taking advantage of the circumstances and they were deserving winners on this night and played the ailing Waxers like a contending club should.

The Waxers while extremely disappointed with their third consecutive loss look to shake off the effects of the weekend and begin preparing for an extremely tough upcoming weekend when they face Wexford at home on Friday and then pay a return visit to Thornhill before breaking for the holidays. There is a good possibility that the lineup will be receive a much needed injection from the injured list, possibly as many as three may be ready to go on Friday.
