[correction made Mar. 5/2001] If Friday night was to be the "laugher years from now", Sunday night was surely not. The Raiders jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back.

The first period started off wrong for the blue and white and things never got better. The Raiders led 3-0 after the first as nothing went right for the Waxers.

The second period was a write off, although the Waxers were able to give emergency backup, Geoff Griffiths, a call-up from the Bantam squad some work in the second period. Griffiths didn't look out of place in the big club's nets, though he was certainly thrown into the fire with the Waxers spending an inordinate amount of time in the box, including almost an entire five-minute stretch down two men. Dan Leclair started in place of the ailing Rick Marnon (severe case of strep throat), Marnon's status for the rest of the series is uncertain at the time of this writing.

This was a night that saw nothing go the Waxers way for whatever reason and while the Waxers had numerous misconducts called against them it's safe to say with the score out of hand that the official was looking to keep things under control and as a result the twin intimidators, James Regan and Mark Menonte were dispatched for early showers.

Game six goes Monday night (Mar. 5) at 8:15pm, come out and support your Waxers as they look to force game seven in this best-of-seven semi-final series.
