Markham came back and tied the contest with 37 seconds remaining in regulation when Alex Stoyan put the puck into the Rangers cage. The Waxers dominated most of the game outshooting their opponents 57-29.

North York got on the board first scoring just past the seven minute mark to take a 1-0 lead.

Markham had played much of the first period shortanded took control of the game in the second period. Donald Johnson tied up the game at 1-1 with his powerplay goal from Jim Ulcar and Chris Petracco less than 90 seconds into the second period.

With Markham continuing to outplay their opponents the Rangers scored with just three minutes remaining in regulation time as the puck was deflected high into the net, perhaps by a defenceman's stick as Waxers netminder Chris DelRosario had no chance on the play.

The Waxers kept on coming however, and in the final two minutes they completely dominated the play holding the puck with intense pressure deep in North York territory. With the club still pressing DelRosario raced to the bench in favour of a sixth attacker and shortly thereafter Alex Stoyan had the tying goal with helpers going to Lawne Snyder and Petracco.

The Waxers had their chances to ice the game in overtime as they outshot the Rangers 6-0.

The Waxers got a well-earned point, they played too much of the game in the penalty box but still had great chances to score, particularly Joel Kitchen (launched one off the cross bar), Greg Chambers (three or four great chances) and Ben Buxton had their opportunities but weren't able to finish.

The Waxers next play the Stouffville Spirit at Centennial Arena on Friday, September 24 at 8pm.
