The Millenium Squad started off the game visibly nervous allowing the Raiders to jump out to a 2-0 lead just 16 minutes into the game. That was all that Wexford would get as goalie B.J. Forsyth slammed the door shut for the rest of the night stopping the next 34 shots he faced.

The Waxers got on the board with just under three minutes left in the period when Greg Chambers (with his first Jr. A goal) snapped a quick shot off the draw won by Robbie Burrows to beat the goalie low to the far side. The period ended 2-1 Wexford.

The Waxers then blew the game over in the second period with four unanswered goals. Chambers banked in a long wrist shot on a powerplay 3:25 into the second during which time the Raiders were being assessed a second penalty. The Waxers wasted no time on the next powerplay scoring 23 seconds later as Ben Buxton converted a terrific crossing pass by Lawne Snyder to collect the first game winning goal of the season. Ryan Steane also picked up an assists on the pretty tic-tac-toe play. Then, just before the ten-minute mark, James Regan (with his first Jr. A goal) was parked on the doorstep for an easy rebound goal in to the yawning cage after a Snyder point shot to put the Waxers up by two goals. Chambers collected an assist for his third point of the night. Four minutes later, while in the midst of killing off a penalty, Mike Carlesimo interscepted a pass and tooki it the other way before blistering a shot to the top corner from just inside the blueline for his first Jr. A goal and a 5-2 lead.

There was no scoring until Kevin Tompkins completed the scoring for the Waxers with just over one minute left in the game. After Buxton was hauled down and missed on a breakaway, Jason Young dug the puck out of the corner and fed it to Tompkins who was left alone in the slot and made no mistake beating the goalie to the glove hand side.
