The Waxers dropped a disappointing 7-6 decision to the North York Rangers Wednesday night, bringing playoffs down to a best of three affair. In a contest that neither club deserved to win the Rangers to their credit prevailed with the victory. The "Greg Chambers Show" was spoiled with the loss, he figured in on all six Waxer goals, his career high in Junior.

Chambers started his night with his first of the night to even the score at 1-1 seven minutes into the opening period. Mike Harding and Lawne Snyder picked up assists. Moments later and on the same shift Chambers setup a driving Jason Fraccaro who scored his first of the playoffs and lifted Markham into it's first lead of the night at 2-1. With seven minutes left in the period and on a powerplay Paul Robinson scored the first of his two on the night to bump the score to 3-2. Jim Ulcar and Chambers assisted. A couple of minutes later with North York enjoying a man advantage Chambers sent an outlet pass to Tom Kotsopoulos who went in all alone on a breakaway to make it 4-2.

The Rangers came storming back in the second and tied the score at 4-4 in the opening half of the period before Chambers would score his second of the night, a pretty goal that was set up by an alert combination passing play between Jeremy Wenzel and Kotsopoulos as they setup Chambers who had just stepped out of the penalty box. With three minutes remaining in the period the Rangers would tie the score at 5-5.

Just 90 seconds into the final period Robinson scored a shorthanded goal from Chambers and Jimmy Ball to give the Waxers what would be their final goal of the night. the Rangers would score twice, three minutes apart in the middle of the period to take the win and even the series at 2-2.
