A game in which the score is grossly misleading, the Waxers lost to the Collingwood Blues by a score of 9-2. The Waxers outshot the Blues 50-29, however, their many excellent scoring opportunities were thwarted by the Collingwood netminder who stood on his head throughout the night.

Collingwood led by scores of 2-0 and 6-0 after the first two period before the Waxers spoiled the shutout. Ian Malcolm scored his team leading 24th goal of the year on a powerplay rush 7 minutes in to the third to break the goose egg. Lawne Snyder and B.J. Forsyth earned assists and Forsyth became the first Markahm goalie to earn a point this season with that helper. Brett Barrer then deflected home a Rob Bumbaco shot a little more than 3 minutes later with Malcolm earning the second assist to complete the scoring for the Waxers for the evening.

At least this trip, the bus did not break down on the way home and leave the boys stranded like last time. The Waxers close out the pre-Christmas regular season slate with a game Friday night at Centennial Arena against the Shelburne Wolves followed by a rematch of cross-town rivals when Markham invades Thornhill to take on the Rattlers.
