MARKHAM MAKES BIG MOVE
TO ACQUIRE GOALTENDER This marks the return of Wenzel to the blue and white as he previously donned a Waxer sweater during the 1996-97 season. Jeremy is an accomplished number 1 goaltender who had spent the past two seasons with the Milton Merchants helping lead the Merchants to a birth in the Royal Bank Cup in 1998 and a spot in the OPJAHL Finals in 1999. The 5’9", 165 lbs goaltender racked up impressive stats in the 1998-99 season playing 1466 minutes allowing only 65 goals against for a goals against average of 2.66 including 1 shutout. So far this season, Jeremy has appeared in 6 games for Collingwood. "It was a deal that was just too good to pass up," states Head Coach Russ Herrington. "Any time you can bring in a solid number 1 with the track record of success like Jeremy has, you jump at the chance. Our team just got a whole lot better." Look for Jeremy to see his first action between the pipes on Thursday night when the Waxers travel to Stouffville to tangle with the Spirit.
