2001-2002 ROSTER - THE
RETURNEES
In today's second of three installments, we'll look at the returning
veterans to the Waxers lineup for the upcoming season. The Waxers
return 12 players to the roster who will be looked upon to improve on their
respective performances from last year.
The "Returnees" are lead by 5
players who make up this year's Captains and Alternate Captains.
Co-Captains of the squad this season will be Steve
Nobili and Jason Young.
Nobili is a four year veteran with past OHL experience who joined the Waxers
early in last years season. Young is entering his third year as a
Waxer.
The Alternate Captains this year are Derek
Doucette, Albert
Ferrante and Paul Robinson.
Doucette joined the Waxers last November, Ferrante joined the Waxers in
January 2000, and Robinson is entering his third season as a Waxer.
Other returning players on defense Mark
Mitchell and Patrick
Diotte. Both players are entering their second year as Waxers.
Up front, the Waxers return leading goal
scorer Jesse Boucher,
centremen Kevin Cribari
and Mark Menonte, and
wingers Jason Duffy and Ryan
Steane. Boucher, Cribari, Menonte and Duffy are in their second
year with the team while Steane returns to the lineup after missing last
year due a broken neck injury suffered in August 2000.
The returning players are excited about the
opportunity that lays ahead and are looking for increased success in the
2001-2002 season.
