Kevin has signed with the Peoria Rivermen (website: http://www.rivermen.net/index.shtml) and it's likely that he will play his first professional game tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 20, 2001) against Charlotte. All league observers and fans know that Kevin's departure (his Junior eligibility has expired) will leave a hole that will not easily be filled in the 2001-02 Waxer lineup. After spending his first year with the club primarily filling the role of an enforcer he has completed a transformation into a top-rate player, combining toughness, skill and a desire to succeed. That transformation was recognized with League awards he was honoured with the past two seasons: 1999-2000 Most Improved Player and 2000-01 Most Valuable Player. The Peoria club is currently in first place, holding a five-point cushion with just seven regular season games remaining. He will be eligible under ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) rules to play in the upcoming playoffs as long he plays in three regular season contests. The Waxers and most certainly their many followers and fans wish Kevin the best of luck as he continues his hockey career.
