The Waxers are proud to announce that Kevin Tompkins and Jimmy Ball have been named to the All-Star Team.TOMPKINS AND BALL EARN ALL-STAR BERTHS:
OPJHL ALL-STAR GAME AT NORTH YORK JAN. 17
The Markham Waxers are proud to announce that Captain Kevin Tompkins and Assistant Captain Jimmy Ball have been selected to the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League East/South All-Star Team. This year the East and South combine forces to compete against the best from the West and the North divisions.

Kevin Tompkins, Captain of the Waxers continues to gain the respect of League observers with his selection to the All-Star Team.Tompkins, in his fourth year with the Waxers has been the Team Captain the past two seasons. After initialing joining the league with the role of an enforcer, Kevin has demonstrated to all that he knows a thing or two about playing the game. Last Year he was honoured as the South Division's. "Most Improved Player". In November of this current season he was recognized as the "South Division Player of the Month". There is no question in the minds of Waxer observers that Tompkins is the inspirational leader of the Markham club on and off the ice.

Jimmy Ball's talent and desire to succeed spoke volumes when he was selected to the All-Star Team despite missing more than half of the year.Ball has been enjoying a bitter-sweet campaign, his third for the blue and white. Already in possession of a scholarship for St. Lawrence University (he will join the St. Lawrence Skating Saints in the Fall), Jimmy is an extremely gifted blueliner who excels at the game in all respects. The bitter part of his season to date has been the fact that he was only able to rejoin the Waxers recently after missing a large part of the season due to injury. His return to the Waxers has had an immediate impact on his club and his teammates.

The OPJHL All-Star game will be played at North York Centennial on Wednesday, January 17th at 7:30pm.

Come out and show your support for our blue and white representatives at the All-Star game.
