WAXERS ANNOUNCE 2000-01
EARLY COMMITMENTS Mark Menonte: Mark has agreed to play with the Waxers after a spectacular season as Captain of the Richmond Hill Stars Midget team. The Stars were Ontario champions and represented the province in the Air Canada Cup (Canadian Midget Championships) in Montreal. Mark's brother Joe was a goaltender with the Waxers. His offensive powers, skating speed and winning experience all add up to make Mark a dynamic addition to the club. Bobby Fitkin: Bobby played last season with the Alliston Hornets Jr. C team. He was their leading scorer and was selected MVP and Most Gentlemanly Player by the Georgina Bay Jr. C League. His explosive speed and scoring talent make him a huge addition to the hockey club. Jason Duffy: The Waxers are proud to add local players to the program. A Markham resident, Jason was the leading scorer of with the North York Canadiens Midgets this year. At 6'2", 185lbs. he brings size, great hands and tremendous drive. Although heavily recruited by other programs Jason has chosen the Waxers and both the team and our fans will be glad he did. Eric Kleine: As a 1985-born player Eric will be part of the tradition of bringing special underage players into the program. Also a local player, Eric lives in Unionville and last year starred as the Captain of the Waxers Minor Bantam team. His solid defensive skills, strength and hockey smarts are part of the package that will have Waxer fans respectfully shaking their heads while watching this young man. Mark Mitchell: Mark has been added to the Waxer defense after playing the past two years with our minor hockey affiliate. He possesses a great blend of skill and grit. The Waxers expect Mark to contribute immediately, especially on offence. Ryan Taylor: Ryan spent last season with the Toronto Red Wing Midgets and played with the Ajax Jr. A club as an affiliated player. Ryan is an exceptionally fast skater and his feel for the game is a catalyst for his skills. Family bloodlines include NHL experience (father Jim) and the club is pleased to add this highly committed player to our program.
