Pickering has grabbed a 2-1 lead in the best of seven series as for the third straight game, the home team was victorious in the opening round of the playoffs. A goal with just 0:16 left on the clock proved to be the winner as Pickering prevailed by a 5-4 score.

After a scoreless first period, the two teams combined for 6 goals in the middle frame. Markham opened the scoring first, on Riley Hill's first of two on the night, assisted by Daniel Torres. Pickering would score the next two before a Joel Gaulrapp goal, with assists to brother James and David Kostuch, tied the game at 2-2. The Panthers struck right back to take a 3-2 lead and on the next shift, Kostuch (from the Gaulrapp brothers) tied it 3-3.

Pickering grabbed the lead early in the third period and that stood up until Hill's second goal, with 2:24 left in regulation, tied the game at 4-4. That set the stage for the Panthers last second heroics to send the series back to Markham for games 4 and 5.
