A game which saw the outcome decided in the final minutes of the third period, saw the Waxers out shot the Wexford Raiders 41-32 but come out on the wrong end of the scoreboard in a 4-2 loss in Scarborough. Goaltender Trevor O'Neill played well and could not be faulted on the Raiders goals, especially the last middle two which redirected off Waxer players and in to the net.

Markham opened the scoring midway through the first period when Brett Molnar upped his team leading goal total to 15, scoring shorthanded. After Nathan Morris blocked a dump in, Nathaniel Brooks blew up the wall with puck and set up Molnar on the 2-on-0 breakaway rush. Molnar roofed the puck for the 1-0 lead but Wexford would equalize the score on the same powerplay.

Neither team scored in the middle frame which set up the tense and exciting third period. Markham scored early in the third to make it 2-1, but the lead would be short-lived. Finishing off a 4-on-4 situation which gave the Waxers a brief powerplay, Molnar jumped in to the play from the box and received a pass from Morris, putting a shot on net. The rebound came out in front to Joel Gaulrapp and he ripped in to the open side of the net at the 2:22 mark of the third. Wexford would score twice in the next 10 minutes to take the 3-2 lead and then iced the victory with a last minute empty netter.
