The Waxers first visit of the season to Ajax proved to be just what the doctor ordered as they snapped a 3 game losing streak in a convincing fashion, defeating the Axemen 5-1. Pounding 59 shots on net, the Waxers only allowed 18 themselves and goaltender Jeff Fischer earned his first victory in a Waxer uniform.

Markham started the game quickly, scoring twice in the opening ten minutes of the first period. On the first, Derrell Levy caused a turnover in the Ajax end and the puck went right to Riley Hill. His blast over the shoulder of the Axemen goaltender was his 8th of the season. Then, at the 9:55 mark, Rainor Guminny scored the first of two on the day as he pounded home a goal mouth pass from Nathaniel Brooks to finish off a pretty 3-on-2 rush started by Brett Molnar.

After Ajax scored the only goal of the second, the Waxers conducted an all out assault in the third period, scoring three times and out shooting the hosts 27-4 in the process. David Kostuch was in on two shorthanded goals in the period, setting up the first and scoring the second. On Markham's third goal, Kostuch stripping the Ajax player of the puck behind the Ajax net, stepped out and found Molnar waiting back door for an easy slam dunk goal to restore the two goal lead. The fourth goal was all Kostuch, as he grabbed a dump in in the Ajax end and then danced around three Axemen before finally deking the goaltender and sliding the puck home for a 4-1 lead. Guminny finished off the scoring, deflecting home a Nathan Morris point shot for a powerplay marker with 6:25 left on the clock.
