Markham finished off a home-and-home series with the North York Rangers with a 4-1 victory Friday night. Perhaps the worst Junior A game of the season, at least one that involved the Waxers, the Waxers were able to capitalize on some chances and play well enough to earn the victory.

The Waxers scored the only goals in the first two periods. The first was in the opening period as Mark Menonte got the home team on the board just past the 9 minute mark. Jesse Boucher and Kevin Cribari cycled the puck down low before Cribari found Menonte cruising in through the high slot. Menonte made no mistake firing the puck high glove side for the 1-0 lead.

In the second period, the same trio combined to up the lead at the 5 minute mark. Menonte and Boucher both had shots on net before the puck found its way to Cribari who took two whacks at it before slipping it home for the only tally of the middle frame.

Cribari added his second of the game early in the third, assisted by who else but Boucher and Menonte. Boucher and Menonte combined for the final goal of the night, in the final minute, as Boucher scored an empty netter to ice the win.

North York ruined Kevin Sit's shut out bid with a powerplay goal with 1:34 remaining in the game.
