Markham completed a successful week ended it the way it began, with an overtime victory on the road defeating the Buzzers 3-2. Ben Cottreau ended the game just 45 seconds in to overtime for the Waxers third victory in a row.

Markham got off to a fast start and controlled the play for the majority of the contest but couldn't put away the South Division's top team in regulation time. Jesse Boucher opened the scoring just over 4 minutes in on a powerplay when he corralled his own rebound in the slot and roofed the puck for his 23rd goal of the year. Just over 12 minutes later, Steve Nobili scored to make it 2-0, again on a powerplay, with Pat Porretta earning the assist.

St. Mike's got one back in the second period and then scored with an extra attacker on the ice when they pulled the goalie in the last minute of play. That was preceded in the third by Kevin Sit stopping a penalty shot with 7:53 left on the clock, shutting down the Buzzer player's deke with a blocker save. Sit stopped 31 shots in all on his way to the victory.

It didn't take long for the Waxers to rebound from the tying goal as they spent almost the entire 45 seconds of overtime in the Buzzers end. Jason Duffy and Porretta chipped in with some strong work getting the puck to the net where Cottreau took care of the rest, sliding the puck home for the game winner while on his knees in the slot area.

A strong effort by the Waxers to complete a perfect week. Markham gets no time to rest however as next weekend sees them match up with North Division leading Newmarket and South Division second place Wexford.
