The Waxers got back on the winning track with a convincing 4-1 victory over the visiting Oshawa Legionaires on Friday night. The Waxers out shot Oshawa 39-25 on the evening and Kevin Sit stopped 24 shots en route to the victory.

The Waxers opened the scoring less than three minutes in to the game on the powerplay. Jesse Boucher fed a goal mouth pass to Ryan Steane and after his redirect was stopped, Jason Duffy jammed the puck home for the 1-0 lead. Boucher would up the lead to 2-0 when he took a pass in the neutral zone from Mark Mitchell, streaked down the left wing boards and swooped in on net deking the goalie for his team leading 19th goal of the year. Mark Menonte earned the second assist on the play. Oshawa would score their lone goal on the evening later in the first period.

The second period saw the Waxers capitalize on another powerplay for a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes. Joey Grasso kept the puck in at the blue line and fed Derek Doucette at the hash marks. Doucette threaded a perfect centering pass to Menonte in the middle of the box and his one-timer went through the goalie's legs for the score.

The Waxers added the final nail in the coffin in the first minute of the third period. Steve Nobili left the puck for Pat Porretta on the powerplay, Porretta rushed up the ice in to the Oshawa end and ripped home a quick wrist shot to the short side to complete the scoring.

These same two teams will face off again Tuesday night (November 6) in Oshawa at 7:30 pm.
