Markham defeated the Ajax Axemen 4-1 Sunday afternoon as the Waxers took both of their weekend games as they continue to entrench themselves into fourth place of the South Division.

Jason Fraccaro got the Waxers on the board capitalizing on a scoring chance created by Paul Robinson and Albert Ferrante.

Ajax scored their lone goal of the contest in the second period when they put a powerplay marker on the board to tie the game at 1-1.

Midway through the third period the Waxers busted out and put the game out of reach with a pair of quick goals. Robinson scored on the powerplay from Alex Stoyan and Fraccaro. With the Waxer bench still celebrating Fraccaro then scored an insurance marker from Greg Chambers and Stoyan to make it 3-1. A late goal by Kevin Tompkins assisted by Tom Kotsopoulos wrapped up the scoring.

Jeremy Wenzel was sharp once again, especially while the outcome of the contest was still in doubt and ended up turning aside 27 of 28 shots he'd face.
