Huntsville opened the scoring on 2 powerplay goals before Ian Malcolm scored the Waxers first goal of the year assisted by Kevin Tompkins and Andrew Robillard.

Chris Petracco scored to tie it at 2-2 assisted by Jim Ulcar and Chris Bahen. After the Wildcats scored their third powerplay goal of the game in the concluding minutes of the second, Malcolm add his second of the game from Tompkins and Bahen to even it up at 3-3.

The Waxers then continued their strong 3rd period play by outscoring the opposition by a 4-1 count.
