Mike returns with Markham for his fourth year as an Assistant Coach. Mike is the Special Teams Coach and
works with the powerplay and penalty killing units.
Mike had a storied, championship filled
playing career. Starting in junior, Mike won 2 Championships in the same number of years. While playing with the St. Michael's Buzzers in 1988-89 season, he was part of the team that finished in first place in the Metro League, won the playoff Championship and then defeated Sarnia to capture the OHA Junior B Championship. The following year, playing in Thornhill with Head Coach Herrington, Mike again captured the Metro League Championship.
From the junior ranks, Mike went on to play at Rochester Institute of Technology
(R.I.T.) in the NCAA. After three years at RIT, Mike began his professional career which included stops in the East Coast Hockey League and the Central Hockey League. While playing for the Wichita Thunder (1995) in the
CHL, Mike was part of another first place and championship team, winning the Ray Miron Cup.
Mike and his wife Jennifer live in
Mississauga with their baby boy Logan (born May 31, 2004).
