MARKHAM
TURNS IT AROUND WITH A 7-1 DOUSING OF THE RANGERS
The wise words of "forget about yesterday"
rang true Sunday afternoon as the Waxers avenged their dreadful 6-3 loss,

DROP 6-3 DECISION TO SPIRIT
In a disappointing affair from the coaches viewpoint the Waxers lost
their first game of the year to the Stouffville Spirit by a 6-3 (last goal
coming on an empty netter). After the game the players held a
players-only, closed door meeting, a testament to the strong leadership
attributes present with this year's squad. They were going to lose
sometime and to witness the corrective steps initiated by the players is a
step that speaks volumes about the character of the young men (especially
Captain Kevin Tompkins
and his crew of veteran assistants) that inhabit the tradition-laden
dressing room at Centennial Arena. [recap]

Markham came back and tied the contest with 37 seconds
remaining in regulation when Alex
Stoyan put the puck into the Rangers cage. The Waxers dominated
most of the game outshooting their opponents 57-29. [recap]
