AND FINISH TO DEFEAT STOUFFVILLE
The Waxers jumped out to a three goal lead in the first,
before Stouffville would make interesting closing to 3-2 after two periods. Another flurry
of three unanswered Waxer goals would wrap up the victory making the final goal of the

THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE, AT
LEAST NOT THIS TIME
The Markham Waxers are off to a decent start in their first
year of competition in the integrated Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League (Prior to
this season Markham competed in the Metro Junior A Hockey League). A quick look at some
numbers show that the old saying "numbers don't mean a thing" isn't always true.

AURORA EDGES MARKHAM 5-4 IN OVERTIME
The Waxers completed a tough weekend with 3 games in 3 nights
earning 5 out of a possible 6 points losing an overtime thriller against the Aurora Tigers
5-4. The Waxers battled back from two 3-goal deficits in the first 24 minutes of play
thanks to numerous bad penalties taken by a sluggish Waxer squad early in the game. [report]
IMPRESSIVE ALL-AROUND
EFFORT RESULTS IN DECISIVE 5-1 VICTORY AT SHELBURNE
The Waxers completed a home-and-home sweep of the Shelburne
Wolves with a 5-1 victory in Shelburne. The Waxers were led by a strong 26-save
performance by Mike Lee who collected his 5th win of the year. [report]

WAXERS TROUNCE THE HUSKIES 9-1 WITH A DOMINATING
EFFORT
After Thursday night's disappointing loss to the Hurricanes
the Waxers turned in a solid effort, albeit, against a much more inexperienced Durham
squad that has struggled mightily all season. Durham struck first for their one and only
goal with four minutes remaining in the opening period after Markham totally dominated the
play for most of the opening frame, often controlling the puck in the Huskies end for
shifts at a time. [report]

October, the Markham Waxers were victorious by a 7-3 count. The Waxers improved their
record to 2-0 against the Huntsville Wildcats by again blowing open a tight game with 4

SPIRIT WITH IMPORTANT 7-3 ROAD VICTORY
The Waxers started October off with a bang by beating the
Spirit of Stouffville 7-3 in the first ever meeting between the two franchises. [report]

The Waxers made their first trip of the season to Collingwood
