WAXERS
GAME VERSUS COLLINGWOOD POSTPONED UNTIL 2005
Due to the inclement
weather (hello White Christmas!), the game between the Waxers
and the Collingwood Blues scheduled for December 23rd has been postponed
until 2005. We will post details when they become available.
WAXERS
WIN THIRD STRAIGHT THANKS TO OPENING PERIOD FIREPOWER
Playing their
third game in less than four days, the Markham Waxers erupted for 5 goals
in the opening period to defeat the North York Rangers by a 6-3
score. Riley Hill banged in
two goals to lead the way as the Waxers completed a 3-for-3 weekend set. [recap]
JACOBS
UNLEASHES TEDDY BEAR TOSS FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR
For the
second straight year, a Josh Jacobs
first period goal unleashed a shower of stuffed animals in the Third
Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night. The goal propelled the Waxers to a
thrilling 6-4 victory over visiting Pickering. The Waxers thank
all of those who participated in the Teddy Bear Toss and Food Drive this
year - it was our biggest and best event to date! [recap]
WAXERS
REMOVE SPIRIT AND COMPLETE SEASON SWEEP OF STOUFFVILLE
The Waxers
won in Stouffville for the first time in what seems like years as they
were able to continue to answer comeback goals by the Spirit en route to a
5-4 victory. [recap]
THE
MYSTERY THAT IS THE WAXERS REARS ITS UGLY HEAD
24 Hours
after perhaps their most important win of the season, the Waxers travelled
to Thornhill and came out completely flat, allowing the Thunderbirds to
skate away with a 4-2 victory. [recap]
WAXERS
ERUPT FOR 5 UNANSWERED TO BEAT VISITING RANGERS
James
Gaulrapp led the way for the Waxers tonight with 5 points (2g, 3a) as
Markham defeated the visiting North York Rangers by a 6-2 count.
Joel Gaulrapp had two goals as well while Shareef Labreche and Riley Hill
had the others as Jeff Fischer turned aside 24 shots for the win. [recap]
WERE
GHOSTS OF RAIDERS PAST THERE TO HELP SINK THE WAXERS?
The Wexford
Raiders and Markham Waxers played another exciting game on Sunday, this
time at the Scarborough Arena Gardens, but in the end, the Raiders
prevailed in large part to two fortuitous bounces that saw point shots
deflect in off Waxer bodies. They would add a last minute empty
netter for a 4-2 victory . [recap]
WAXERS
END SKID WITH SOLID SATURDAY THUMPING OF THE AXEMEN
After having
their first (and only) Friday night off of the season, the Waxers
travelled to Ajax for a rare Saturday matinee wuith the Axemen. Led
by Rainor Guminny's two goals,
the Waxers defeated the hosts 5-1 as they threw 59 shots at the Axemen net
over the 60 minutes.. [recap].
