MARKHAM DEPUT MAYOR FRANK
SCARPITTI KICKSTARTS THE 100TH YEAR
The 100th year was officially launched with pre-game
festivities where Markham Deputy Mayor Frank Scarpitti presented the
OHA with a plaque honouring the 100th year of Markham's participation.
Accepting on behalf of the Ontario Hockey
Association was veteran referee Paolo Carreda.Waxers owner Don Bremner then accepted on behalf of the Waxers, a
club steep with tradition and history, a plaque of appreciation from Mr.
Scarpitti.
After the speeches and presentations the ceremonial faceoff to kickstart
the new year was followed by the national anthem.
