CLOSE TO LOCKING DOWN THIRD SPOT
Perhaps the best thing that could have happened to the Markham Waxers was the rescheduling of its Dec. 19 road game against the Oshawa
Legionaires. Back in mid December, the Waxers were
mired in a mid-season slump. Entering Thursday's make up game, the Waxers were riding the crest of a three-game winning streak.

DEREK
DOUCETTE'S PAIR OF BAZOOKA BLASTS DEFLATES THE SPIRIT
Friday night the Waxers faced a good test as the Stouffville Spirit (in
the midst of a real dogfight for first place in the North) paid a visit to
Markham Centennial. The Waxers with a big assist to the howitzer toted by
the oft-forgotten Derek Doucette
(he joined the Waxers with older brother Adam, a deal that has to easily
be the deal of the year). With Markham down 4-3, Derek unleashed a pair of
bombs to first tie and then put the Waxers ahead for good to give the
Waxers their fifth straight win. [recap]

ROLL OVER THE LEGIONAIRES AWAIT ANY SPIRIT LEFT IN STOUFFVILLE
Thursday night the Waxers dominated the host Oshawa Legionaires in a
classic display of excellent team play with solid contributions from all
members of the blue and white. Tremendous forechecking and backchecking by
the forwards combined with solid defense and outstanding netminding
results in games going into the "W" column, this night was no
exception. As the contest wound down the Oshawa squad appeared to be quite
dismayed by the results. [recap]
THE FACTS IN BLACK AND

involving Seth Gray (hereafter referred to as "Player") from the
Bowmanville Eagles. This was done to provide clarification as there have
been many rumours and misunderstandings concerning the details surrounding
this case. [facts]

weekend's schedule. Dan Leclair
was outstanding in goal and only lost his bid for his first shutout of the
year with five minutes remaining in the contest. [recap]

FALL TO THE RATTLERS
Friday night the Waxers played their final regular season contest against
the cross-town rival Thornhill Rattlers. Any momentum the Waxers got going
was siphoned off by numerous penalty killing assignments. Adam
Doucette was in on all three Markham goals that saw Kevin
Tompkins (2) and Paul
Robinson provide the attack in the losing effort. [recap]

YEAR GREETS WAXERS WITH HEALTHY BODIES AND A BIG ROAD WIN
Tuesday night the Waxers, with an almost complete lineup, shrugged off a
2-0 first period deficit and stormed back with four second period goals to
