MARKHAM
SHOWS REAL CHARACTER TO COME FROM BEHIND TO TIE THE RATTLERS
Saturday night the Waxers paid a return visit to the venue that saw them
fall to their worst defeat in memory (a week ago). After a slow start the
Waxers bounced back and despite a further shortened lineup, with nine
bodies out of the lineup (more on that below), the boys in blue and
white stormed from a second period 3-0 deficit to tie the Rattlers 5-5
in Thornhill. [recap]

LOSE DESPITE OUTPLAYING THE RAIDERS FOR MOST OF THE CONTEST
The Waxers faced the Wexford Raiders on home ice
for their final home game of the 2000 year and performed admirably, besting the
Raiders in all aspects of the game except, unfortunately, the scoreboard. Adam
Doucette led the attack with two goals and an assists, other goals
came from the sticks of Paul
Robinson (2) and Derek
Doucette. [recap]

OOPS,
THE PESKY RANGERS SNEAK OUT OF MARKHAM WITH THE PRIZE
The Waxers were upset by the North York Rangers in a strange game at
Markham Centennial. After dominating the play almost entirely in the
opening period the Waxers lapsed defensively a few times and the Rangers
capitalized. The rest of the schedule before the Christmas break will be
gut check time for the blue and white, Saturday night they face the rival
Thornhill Rattlers before concluding their pre-break slate next weekend. [recap]
HARD
WORK GOES FOR NAUGHT IN VISIT TO STOUFFVILLE
Thursday night the Waxers traveled to Stouffville to take on the Spirit
and departed with a disappointing 7-4 loss. The Waxers played their best
hockey of the year in the first period and didn't suffer much in the way
of letdowns the rest of the way but came away with no points despite the
outstanding effort. [recap]

DOWNED BY THE STREAKING HURRICANES
The Waxers had a tough time getting any breaks and
those that they got weren't of the favourable variety during action at
Markham Centennial against the Newmarket Hurricanes. [recap]

EDGE OUT WAXERS
The Waxers visited St. Michael's College Arena on
Sunday night in an effort to exorcise the demons that have seen them go
winless in that venue for two seasons. Alas, the trend continued as a
spirited and thorough effort by the Waxers resulted in a 5-3 loss at the
hands of the Buzzers. [recap]
